Have Keys, Will Travel

Excuse me, does anyone out there want to ride shotgun with me? You may have use of the blue lights, siren, and radios. But to use the radios, I must insist we abide by the law and that you have a certificate from the FCC. The good news is that I will let you use the lights even if you are not one of those "special commissioners."

I have the ability to obtain a 4x4 SUV black in color with blue lettering. I must caution you, however, that the clunking noise under the seats may mean that the 4x4 drive is slightly blown and we may, as others have, simply ignore it. If we slide down Ashfield Mountain, do not blame me for the illegal tires because of the tread depth. Or we can strip out the radio system and sell it to the underworld.

I say anyone stupid enough to leave keys on the ground behind the back tire, where anyone could come along and take control of town equipment or destroy town equipment by joy riding, as has been done in the past with the ambulance, you should be suspended and long gone. The liability keeps mounting.

  1. Dear Ashfielder's,

Did anyone read the State Police report tonight? Ashfield Cracks Key Ring!! They read the blog and reported to the State Police they throw their keys on the ground where anyone can find them and go for a joy ride in the cruisers. Not only that, they requested the State Trooper track down Suzanne. Well guess what, I do not have those keys. Can you imagine this opportunity was given to me and I able to advise them of the conditions of those vehicles which are not road worthy?? Oh yes I did, so thank you for having them do a welfare check on the keys.

Well better luck with the marijuana case and by the way, does the reportee know you reported his doings yet? Hmmmm....school property? Click click.

  2. Suzanne,

Please post this to the blog comments for me. Thanks. Paullette

    Dear Citizens of Ashfield,

The State Police eventually came to my home late Saturday night looking for Suzanne, whose car was parked in my driveway. The State Police Officer reported that leaving the keys near the tire of the town cruiser was not a good place to put the keys. He indicated that the correct procedure would be to put the keys in a lock box.

How long was this vehicle backed into a parking space at the town garage? When and on what day were the keys put near the rear tire (about 5-6 inches from the tire) and in plain view for anyone to pick up.
Has this been the standard operating procedure and under who orders?

    Sincerely, Paullette Leukhardt
